HHP History

I used to train using the classic bodybuilder exercises that you are probably familiar with. And I got all of the side effects that came with ordinary training — soreness, joint aches, and stiffness. Though my training made me "gym strong," I felt that I was aging: experiencing too many aches and pains, and taking too long for my knees and back to warm up for ordinary activities like playing with my kids in the park.

So I decided to redefine what being in shape meant: I wanted functional strength, balance, coordination, speed, power, and the ability to move in any direction. I wanted to have that athletic feel to my body again. To achieve this kind of fitness (for life, not just for the gym) I began to train with bands, and within six weeks I was seeing amazing results. I had taken my speed and quickness to a whole new level, and I no longer had back, shoulder or hip pain.

In addition, with family responsibilities I needed workouts that were effective and short — I didn't have time for the usual 60-minute workout. I found that with these unique bands I could do explosive movement in all directions and train both my upper and lower body, especially my core. For years my basement was my lab. That is where I perfected HHP. That was over ten years ago and I haven't stopped training with my bands since.
